MSNBC anchor shocked by Black, Latino voters supporting Trump’s mass deportation policy

MSNBC host Alex Wagner was shocked to learn that Pennsylvania's black and Latino voters expressed support for former President Trump and his immigration policies.

Wagner, host of “Alex Wagner Tonight,” sat down with members of the Black Republican Club of Philadelphia over the weekend to explain why Trump, and not Vice President Kamala Harris, is supporting a diverse group of black and Latino voters. I asked him if he had earned it. Wagner noted that black voters in Philadelphia are expected to support Harris by a wide margin, but asked how many voters Trump could “unstick” in the county.

One voter named Dorian Urizar, when asked what aspects of Trump's policies resonated with him, said immigration was an important issue. He also noted that he comes from a family of Guatemalan immigrants.

“For us, when we see new immigrants coming in, they're more violent, they're more chaotic, they're doing worse than anything, and yet we've been here longer than they have. “It means being there,” he said. “And it starts to affect us even more, because things get stolen, they look bad at us as immigrants, we stay longer than them, we blame them. This is because they are subject to more misrepresentations.”

Harris ramps up outreach to black male voters as polls suggest Trump has an advantage

He wasn't sure whether he supported mass deportations, ultimately arguing, “But I think it's a good idea for the incoming immigrants, because they're the problem.” did.

Another voter claimed to support mass deportation.

“I generally agree with the idea of mass deportation,” said the Rev. Philip Fisher. “We have criminals in this country who are destroying our country. They have easier access than people who are legally immigrating to this country for welfare and other benefits. ”

“So, as taxpayers, we have to pay for them to live a life of luxury. But we get nothing. Especially in a Democratic-controlled system where we suffer so much.” Black Americans who could have gotten nothing. That's insane,” he added.

A woman named Sheila Armstrong said, “What drives me crazy about immigration is the fact that I feel like the Democratic Party celebrates people who break the law, and they do. “Why make laws, why make whole things?'' Are you going to break the immigration inspection procedures? ”

Harris unveils new agenda in court for black male voters

Wagner asked the group about President Trump's comments about immigrants coming for “black jobs.”

“Well, first of all, they are,” Armstrong said. “They're illegal aliens. They're taking jobs from people in this country. It's just a fact that Trump is saying out loud. So it's a fact that we rally behind Trump. This is what we have been crying out for as a community on this day.”

In the next segment, Wagner spoke to Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis and pressed him on whether Democrats had made a mistake.

“So while Harris appears to be more organized and more focused in this fight as she seeks to disenfranchise voters, there is no denying that Trump has the emotional pull.” she said. “And if you listen to that sound we played at the end, President Trump has so much emotional weight to his cause, but Democrats have too much faith in the structure and organization of the Harris campaign. I wonder if it was a miscalculation that I improvised and brought people in.

“Quite the opposite,” Davis said, adding, “I think Democrats realize this is going to be a close election. That's why the Harris campaign runs the largest presidential organization in Pennsylvania.” said.
