Mr. Reed later apologized on air.
“I was chatting while the clip was playing. As you know, we try to keep this show as close to PG-13 as possible, so for those of you who were listening to my behind-the-scenes chat, I would like to apologize,” she said. “We deeply, deeply apologize for this.”
The clip started circulating on X, with many people appearing to believe she was talking about President Biden in her hot mic remarks.
