President Biden is facing intense backlash from Muslim voters and organizations after the House of Representatives passed $26 billion in funding for Israel on Saturday.
The bill also includes funding for Ukraine and Taiwan, and Biden said he would sign the bill as soon as it reaches his desk. Islamic organizations in the United States have been attacking the Biden administration for months for its continued support for Israel, and some believe Biden’s signing of this latest bill could be the final blow.
Robert McCaw, director of government affairs at the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said, “Their callous decision leaves behind the White House’s relationship with America’s Muslim community and other Americans who oppose the genocide in Gaza. There is a possibility that it will show something that is not there.” he told NBC News.
He added: “The administration is already at its worst in terms of relations with America’s Muslim communities.”

“We will continue to monitor the genocide that is occurring in Gaza, and we cannot allow U.S. military support to participate in that genocide,” she said. “This is a moment like the Iraq War, a moment where we wonder if our people are not working with us.”
The anger comes as Muslim voters in key battleground states like Michigan are already threatening to abandon Biden’s re-election efforts.
