NASA investigates the case of the missing scientists amid growing demands for answers

Trump promises to look into the unexplained deaths of American scientists.

White House Probes Scientist Deaths and Disappearances; Lawmakers Seek FBI Involvement

The White House is looking into the troubling pattern of deaths and disappearances involving 11 highly skilled scientists since 2022, with Representative Eric Burlison from the House Oversight Committee urging the FBI to take action. Many of these scientists worked on crucial nuclear and space research projects, and their mysterious vanishings have sparked national security concerns amid rising international competition.

Nasa announced on Monday that it will collaborate with various federal agencies to further investigate the cases, as there is increasing worry in Washington that these individuals may have been targeted due to their professional activities. NASA spokesperson Bethany Stevens stated that currently, there’s no evidence suggesting a direct national security threat related to these scientists. NASA emphasizes its commitment to transparency and promises to share more information as it becomes available.

Earlier, during a press briefing, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt responded to inquiries about this pressing issue. She mentioned that the White House is cooperating with all relevant agencies, including the FBI, to thoroughly investigate these incidents and identify any potential patterns, particularly in light of the legitimate concerns raised.

Since 2022, at least 11 scientists have either died or gone missing. Most were involved in nuclear science or space studies, with a subset dedicated to researching unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs). Among those affected are Michael David Hicks (59), Frank Maiwald (61), and Jason Thomas (45), whose contributions were vital to significant scientific endeavors. The circumstances surrounding some of these deaths remain unclear, while others have sparked criminal investigations, such as the shooting of Carl Grillmare.

The situation is becoming more alarming, as House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has indicated that there may be “something sinister” underlying these events. He mentioned that they have contacted the relevant agencies, including the Army, FBI, NASA, and the Department of Energy, seeking any information regarding the scientists’ fates. “We’re trying to piece this together,” Comer remarked during a segment on “Fox & Friends Weekend.” He also noted plans to invite representatives from these agencies to Congress for further discussions.

President Trump, while addressing the media, expressed hope that the situation isn’t as dire as feared and mentioned that answers may emerge within the next week and a half, highlighting the ongoing investigation into these unsettling incidents.
