Netanyahu Urges Neighbors to Assist in Expelling Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is appealing to nearby countries to collaborate in the effort to remove Hamas from the region. His office conveyed this message, stating, “Israel reaches out to all its neighbors for peace and prosperity, calling on them to normalize relations with Israel and cooperate in expelling Hamas and its supporters from the region.”

This announcement follows the endorsement by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) of President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, which was adopted on Monday. The Council’s resolution aims to conclude the ongoing conflict and introduce an international stabilization force.

During his presentation to the board, Walz referred to Gaza as a “hell on earth” after two years of fighting and emphasized that the resolution presents a chance to replace “the rubble where schools once stood” with “a path to peace.” The proposal passed with a vote of 14-0 and two abstentions, including Russia.

Walz stated, “Voting yes today is more than just supporting the plan. It affirms our common humanity. A vote against this resolution is a vote back to war.”

Netanyahu’s office expressed satisfaction with the Security Council’s approval of the agreement, asserting that the plan could pave the way for “peace and prosperity,” particularly through the complete demilitarization, disarmament, and deradicalization of Gaza.

Israel has also called for the release of hostages, including Ron Gviri, Dror Orr, and Sudisak Rintalak.

In its efforts to expel Hamas, Israel expressed hope that this plan would foster the expansion of the Abraham Accords, a series of agreements initiated during the first Trump administration. Countries like the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco have already signed accords to normalize relations with Israel.

According to Netanyahu’s office, “As President Trump envisioned, this will lead to further integration of Israel and its neighboring countries and the expansion of the Abraham Accords. His groundbreaking leadership will guide the region toward peace, prosperity, and a lasting alliance with the United States.”

A senior official from the Trump administration remarked in October that the expected peace deal between Israel and the Gaza Strip presents a unique opportunity to expand these agreements further. “There will be a significant increase in positive momentum,” the official noted. “I hope this leads to an opportunity to further improve sentiment and extend the Abraham Accords. It really just changes the atmosphere in the region.”
