Nevada GOP Senate Candidate Appeared in Infomercials Selling Anti-Wrinkle Serum

Dr. Jeff Gunter, a wealthy dermatologist who claims to be an “America First” candidate and is running for the Nevada Senate, said at some point in his youth that he was exposed to an anti-wrinkle serum. At least one man was promoting it in a sketchy late-night infomercial selling it. In the lawsuit, he said he contracted a deadly disease.

Gunter, who made millions from his dermatology practice over the years and later served as U.S. ambassador to Iceland during former President Donald Trump’s first term, is currently a Republican Senate candidate in the Silver State. He is running against Captain Sam, a decorated military veteran. brown.

As Breitbart News previously reported, Brown was seriously injured by a roadside bomb while protecting a fellow soldier in Afghanistan several years ago, suffering third-degree burns over much of his body. There is. Mr. Brown has emerged as the leading Republican candidate for the Nevada Senate this cycle, but Mr. Gunter, who is spending a lot of his own money even though he is far behind Mr. Brown in the polls. The campaign isn’t over yet, with millions of dollars still being spent on the primaries.

The appearance of these previously unreported infomercial appearances by Mr. Gunter may indicate whether he is being outspoken enough to claim to be campaigning, or whether this candidacy is, as some have said, another campaign. This raises serious questions as to whether this is a scam. He was pitching a sketchy anti-wrinkle serum in the early hours of the morning.

Infomercial videos are very difficult to find online. Website For the company that Gunter was selling this product to.internet archive search The video was found to have aired on NBC in Baltimore between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Eastern time on September 16, 2013. The video is available in a minute-long snippet, which has been excerpted by Breitbart News into a broader, slightly longer piece of news. Clips longer than 7 minutes have been uploaded here.

A few minutes after the video was posted, the host of an unofficial program said, “Youthology’s 90-second wrinkle removal serum, developed at the Youthology Research Institute, does not involve Botox injections or “expensive and invasive cosmetic surgery.” It is a “more acceptable alternative.” We worked with principal investigator Dr. Jeffrey Gunter, a board-certified dermatologist with clinics throughout Southern California. ”

While she is saying these things, Gunter is standing behind her on set with three female subjects who are about to use Gunter’s serum, and a B-roll of Gunter walking around in a lab coat with it. Go back and forth between them and use Gunther’s serum. Activities expected of a doctor.

Then Günther himself appears on the screen and speaks. “You’re right, Annmarie,” Gunter says. “Our goal was simple: to scientifically and naturally help patients resist the visible signs of aging and stay years younger without undergoing surgery or relying on regular injections. It’s about making it visible.”

“When you look at a human face, there are basically three major indicators that the skin is aging,” Gunter continues. A graphic of a woman’s face appears on the screen along with a graph showing signs of aging. “This often makes people look older than they are.” ”

“Let me show you what I’m talking about,” Gunter says as he walks over to the women he and the infomercial host have cast on set for an on-screen experiment. He pointed out the first woman’s “fine lines and wrinkles under and around the eyes,” and then the second woman’s “deep creases and wrinkles at the outer corners of the eyes,” which he said were “commonly referred to as crow’s feet.” “There is,” he says. ”He then cited the third woman’s “common bags of skin or bags under her eyes.”

“These are all very common occurrences. They occur naturally, but they can cause us to look older than we are,” Gunter continues.

He then spends several minutes applying the serum he sells in infomercials to the faces of the three women. Meanwhile, the cameras watch him train for 90 seconds on each woman and see the effects in real time. For example, when shown before and after images of the first subject, Gunther said, “You can see the fine lines and wrinkles literally disappear!”

When Gunter arrived at the second woman, he showed her before and after photos and said her wrinkles and crow’s feet were gone. “He’s completely gone!”

“My crow’s feet and wrinkles have disappeared,” he added.

He made a similar comment about the third woman on screen, saying that the serum had left her dark circles under her eyes “lifted, tightened and completely gone.”

Later in the infomercial, another narrator, while watching footage of people applying the serum, says, “This is also great for men who want to look years younger. That’s exactly what it is!” I am.

One man who says he ended up buying the Youthology serum Gunter was selling said in the lawsuit that the experience was a disaster for him. California man David Schumacher filed a lawsuit in Sacramento Superior Court in 2009, claiming that Gunter’s miracle serum was a real nightmare for him.

“Plaintiff claims that while using Defendant’s products Youthology, Clinical Essentials, and 90 Second Wrinkle Eye Serum, Plaintiff suffered from necrotizing fasciitis, sepsis, permanent disfigurement, internal organ damage, scarring around Plaintiff’s eyes, etc. suffered injuries,” the lawsuit states. “Defendants and each Defendant manufactured or assembled, designed or manufactured, sold, advertised, and failed to test the component parts and/or processes to ensure that the products were safe for public use.”

Gunter is named as one of the defendants in the lawsuit. A subsequent lawsuit filing states that Gunter was dismissed as a defendant in the suit and that Eulogy settled with the plaintiffs. Other filings include Schumacher meeting with various doctors while dealing with necrotizing fasciitis, and Schumacher being taken to the emergency room and having part of his face removed where the infection had spread. It describes the terrifying process he went through in order to undergo immediate surgery. A series of documents spanning dozens of pages tells the horrifying story of what this poor man went through.

While not everyone has had an experience as horrifying as the man who said he suffered from necrotizing fasciitis in a lawsuit Youthology settled, many reviews online say… number website called The product is a “scam” or a “rip-off.”

Gunter doesn’t rule out filming such infomercials, and is actually proud of doing so. When asked for comment by Breitbart News, Gunter’s campaign sent back a statement attributing the claims to those who responded to email inquiries from media outlets on the campaign’s website. However, the last sentence of the statement refers to Gunther in the first person and insists that his campaign is “not a fraud.”

“Dr. Gunter was a spokesperson for a colleague’s product that conducted clinical trials and was incredibly effective and beloved by patients,” Gunther’s camp told Breitbart News. “He takes pride in helping others feel good in their own skin, and also stays away from potential radioactive nuclear waste sites, such as Yucca Mountain, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Avoiding peak sun hours and recommending sunscreen with SPF 30. Unlike my opponents, this is not a “scam.” “

When asked about this discrepancy and whether the statement was coming from him or the campaign, the sender of the Gunther campaign’s media inquiry email responded with an updated version with the last sentence changed to read: A statement was emailed back to me. “Unlike his opponents, this is not a scam.”

The winner between Brown and Gunter will face Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nevada) in November.
