Nicki Minaj Commends Trump for His Role in Addressing the 'Mass Slaughter' of Christians in Nigeria by Radical Islamists

Nicki Minaj has expressed her appreciation for President Donald Trump’s attention to the severe situation faced by Christians in Nigeria, which she described as a “genocide” related to Islamic extremism.

In a tweet, she shared a screenshot of Trump’s statement on X and also referenced a message on Truth Social where he highlighted the “existential threat” to Christians in Nigeria. Minaj conveyed a “deep sense of gratitude” for Trump’s remarks, emphasizing the freedom to worship in the United States.

Trump noted, “Thousands of Christians are being murdered,” attributing the genocide to radical Islamists. He declared Nigeria as a “Country of Special Concern,” adding, “When groups like this are massacred, something must be done!”

Minaj acknowledged Trump and his administration for their serious consideration of the issue and urged “all persecuted Christians” to unite in prayer.

She wrote, “This made me feel so grateful. In our country, we can worship God freely. No group should face persecution for their beliefs, and we can respect each other despite differing views.”

Minaj further thanked the President and his team, saying, “God bless all persecuted Christians. Let’s remember them in our prayers.”

In Trump’s post, he encouraged Congressman Riley Moore (R-West Virginia) to collaborate with Congressman Tom Cole (R-Okla.), chair of the House Appropriations Committee, to investigate the matter and report back to him.

Trump remarked, “The United States cannot just watch these atrocities happen in Nigeria and elsewhere. We are prepared to assist Christians globally.”

In a statement, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Maitama Tugar, refuted claims of genocide, stating to Newsweek that such accusations are unfounded.

“To clarify, and in respect to all victims of this heinous crime, we must affirm that there is no genocide occurring in Nigeria,” Tager explained.

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a Muslim, has previously denied any allegations of religious persecution, calling them “a lie from the pits of hell.”

Recently, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has also raised concerns regarding the “mass murder of Christians by Islamic jihadists” in Nigeria, criticizing Nigerian officials for not addressing the issue.

In a tweet, Cruz linked to a Reuters article detailing how over 5,000 people fled to Cameroon after Boko Haram seized the Nigerian border town of Kirawa.

Additionally, on April 14, 2014, Frances Martell of Breitbart News reported about the abduction of around 300 schoolgirls by Boko Haram from the Christian community of Chibok.
