A North Carolina father was found dead after a road rage incident Saturday night, allegedly shot to death by an elderly man.
Witnesses said Terrell Eugene Giddens, 75, and Jeffrey Michael Guida, 40, got out of the car after they both stopped and got out during some kind of traffic altercation. It is believed that he was shot with a rifle.
Witnesses said Giddens also fired multiple shots into Guida's car, which had three children inside.
Guida's children, ages 13, 11 and 2, were not physically harmed, according to information from the Catawba County Sheriff's Office.
“The situation could have been much worse had the children been injured or killed,” said Capt. Aaron Turk of the Catawba County Sheriff's Office. he told WBTV.
Giddens was arrested and charged with murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder, according to the sheriff's office.
Witnesses reported seeing two men parked at the intersection of Island Point Road and North View Harbor Drive in Catawba, North Carolina, about an hour from Charlotte. .

Responding deputies found Guida dead at the scene around 5 p.m., and Gidden was nowhere to be seen. Based on witness descriptions of Giddens and his vehicle, investigators found Giddens at a nearby home on Island Point Road, where he was arrested.
Friends and family erected a small memorial at the intersection where Guida was killed.
“It's unbelievable, right? That something like this could happen in my neighborhood,” neighbor Dennis Couch told WBTV.
