Florida’s attorney general has taken action against a nurse who wished harm upon White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt during her pregnancy. On Wednesday, Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that Alexis Lawler’s nursing license has been revoked following an emergency suspension order filed by the state Board of Nursing.
Uthmeier emphasized that wishing pain on anyone in a professional capacity crosses an ethical line. Lawler has also lost her job at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital due to her comments.
“The statements made by a nurse at our facility do not align with our values or the standards expected of healthcare professionals,” a hospital representative stated.
Lawler’s disciplinary issues arose from a TikTok video where she expressed a desire for Leavitt to experience a severe birth injury, specifically a fourth-degree tear, during her delivery.
“As a labor and delivery nurse, it gives me great joy to wish Karoline Leavitt a fourth-degree tear,” she said in the video.
In response to the incident, a GoFundMe has been initiated for Lawler, reportedly raising over $10,000 to aid her legal fight, claiming she is being punished for exercising her rights to political expression.
