NY v Trump: Former president unleashes social media firestorm ahead of jury deliberation

Former President Trump launched a fierce tirade on social media ahead of the jury’s verdict in the trial, which begins in New York on Wednesday.

The trial began just after 10 a.m. ET, with Judge Juan Marchan reading instructions to the jury calling for a verdict before moving on to reach a verdict on charges of falsifying business records against the former president.

“Duck court! Corrupt and inconsistent judges. First time reliance on counsel (advice of counsel) not acknowledged by Merchant,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“His ruling on a case that according to all legal scholars and experts should never have been brought has turned this into a Biden driven witch hunt. There was no crime except for a vagrant who got caught stealing from me! In God We Trust!” he wrote.

Trump later posted a slamming various comments made by commentators defending him in the case, as well as the gag order imposed by Marchand.

“The prosecutor’s office was allowed to continue their random interrogation for five hours yesterday. I have no right to resist the gag order of this corrupt judge!” he wrote.
