NZD/USD Price Prediction: Technical Outlook
The Kiwi dollar continues to show a bearish tendency, remaining below the 200-day simple moving average (SMA) of 0.5819 for the 25th consecutive trading session. This drop occurs even with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) having increased interest rates and hinted at potential future rate hikes.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicates that buyers seem to have some control at this moment, but it also hints at possible consolidation moving forward.
For the bearish trend to sustain itself, NZD/USD will need to dip below the psychological mark of 0.5700. If it does, that opens the door to a previous low of 0.5672 from July 8, followed by another target around 0.5650. Should it clear these levels, the focus would shift to the 0.5600 milestone.
On the upside, the first point of resistance is the daily high of 0.5794 recorded on July 10, with the next key levels around 0.5800. Beyond that, there’s a convergence of the 50-day SMA and 200-day SMA between 0.5812 and 0.5819, respectively, followed by the 100-day SMA at the 0.5835 and 0.5850 thresholds.
