A mob of laughing bikers was captured on video attacking a California liquor store employee and then fleeing the scene, with the employee shouting that he pulled a gun on the attackers.
The unidentified employee was standing outside Golden Hours Liquor on International Boulevard in Oakland on Saturday when he was confronted by more than 20 bicyclists who had surrounded the outside of the store.
The worker tried to get in the face of one of the bikers, who was slamming his fist into the other hand in a provocative manner, the posted video showed. Instagram captured.
As the two men speak, another biker slaps the worker in the face, causing his hat to fly off as the worker retreats from the assailant, who is seen off-camera.
Another biker wearing a balaclava ran up behind the worker and punched the unsuspecting victim in the side of the neck, then punched the worker in the head, encouraging others to follow suit.
The bikers' attack quickly turned into a melee outside the store, with dozens of people attacking staff, punching and slapping their targets.
“Get him, get him,” several people shouted.
Several laughing men on motorbikes pushed the store clerk back towards the store entrance, hitting him in the head and torso.
The worker, bent over and beaten, pulled out a gun while the once-strong bikers desperately fled the scene.
The armed worker stood with his back to the wall and took aim at one of the attackers, then lowered his arms and pursued him on foot.
“Where are you, where are you?” workers shouted as the cameraman struggled to grab the bike, which had fallen to the ground.
Another video shows a worker chasing one of the bikers, who is wearing a grey hoodie and face mask, and punching him to the ground.
Oakland police responded to the scene around 4:15 p.m. and will be investigating a “ShotSpotter activation,” the Oakland Police Department said in a statement. He told the Daily Mail.
“ShotSpotter” is a gunshot detection system that alerts emergency responders when it detects a gunshot.
Officers “found evidence of gunfire” but no injuries were reported, the outlet reported.
No arrests were made in Saturday's melee.
The clerk put his gun away but remained outside the store as several people tried to confront him after he pulled out his gun.
The Post has contacted Oakland police.
