Ohio school board member Anne Zakkour fires Nazi salute to dictator board president

An Ohio school board member gave a sarcastic Nazi salute and slogan to the head of the school board for “acting like a dictator” at a recent meeting shortly before he resigned.

During a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 5, Tipp City Board of Education President Simon Patry was speaking about transparency around the current school district project when school board member Ann Zakur tried to interrupt Patry. I didn’t want anything to do with her.

“I’m talking, don’t disturb me, don’t make noise or I won’t allow it. Stop talking,” Patry demands. A moment captured on video.

Zakur didn’t like the way the “dictator” president reprimanded him, raising his left arm to Patry and shouting “Oh Sieg Heil.”

A member of the animation board revealed that her actions were symbolic towards Patry.

“Mr. Patry has acted like a dictator on our Board of Directors for years, but last night I was already fed up with his demands for complete obedience.” Zakur told Dayton 24/7 Newseducational franchise. “My reaction last night was a symbolic and ironic submission to a board member acting as a dictator.

At the end of the “worksession” meeting, Patry announced that he was stepping down from his role.

“I would like to announce at midnight tonight that I am stepping down from the Board of Education,” Patry said, adding that he would be stepping down as president with immediate effect.

Patry motioned for board vice-president Amber Drumm to be the new chairman, but Zakur intervened and demanded clarification on Drumm’s role and terminology, much to Patry’s annoyance.

It is unclear whether Patry’s resignation is related to Zakur’s actions.

Tip City is located 26 miles north of Dayton and has an enrollment of 2,356 students, over 92% of whom are white. According to USNews.com.

Zakur’s comments and salute came hours after a US Open spectator was kicked out of Arthur Ashe Stadium for allegedly using a similar phrase.

Alexander Zverev’s fans shouted “Hitler’s most famous phrase” while fighting Jannik Sinner in the fourth set of an epic round of 16 match, the German star claimed.

The man was ejected from the stadium, resulting in Zverev winning the match.
