The tables have turned in the rivalry between Michigan State and Ohio State.
The unranked Wolverines trailed by 23 points, but pulled off a 13-10 upset over the second-place Buckeyes in Columbus.
Michigan was inside its own 5-yard line and Will Warren, a wide open receiver, short-armed the pass and was intercepted. However, the Buckeyes were unable to capitalize and were forced to punt.

With less than three minutes remaining, the Wolverines got into field goal range on a strong run from Karel Mullins. Then Ryan Day had perhaps the biggest failure in the rivalry, and it stuck with him throughout his tenure.
Facing third-and-2 and just coming out of a timeout, Day didn't like what he saw on the field. So he called for another timeout. Of course, you cannot declare timeouts consecutively. In that case, a 5-yard penalty was called, giving Michigan first and goal. With Ohio State running out of timeout, the Wolverines wasted even more time and were able to go up 13-10 with 45 seconds left.

The Buckeyes mustered just one yard and iced the game at Michigan by waving to Buckeye fans from the horseshoe. Making matters worse, OSU missed two field goals early in the game.
After the game, a scuffle broke out after a University of Michigan player planted a Michigan flag at midfield, much to the dismay of many Buckeye players. Mullins, a Michigan hero with more than 100 rushing yards, called the ordeal “outside.”
The Buckeyes have won 15 of their last 16 games and haven't lost their last four. This is the first time since 1988-1991 that the University of Michigan has won four straight games in this rivalry.
