One-legged California man who allegedly stabbed massage parlor worker 56 times was arrested outside another massage parlor

According to Utah State Police, one-legged man stabbed Massage parlor employees arrested 56 times and arrested outside another massage parlor in California.

Salt Lake County District Attorney Sam Gill said in a media briefing that the investigation into the murder of 45-year-old Yuping Zhao led to the arrest of 39-year-old Steven Chance Brinkerhoff of Redondo Beach.

Ms Zhao was found stabbed to death by her brother at A+ Massage in Midvale on January 4th. The coroner later announced that she had been stabbed 56 times.

charging stated in the document Police used surveillance video from a nearby massage parlor and found that a man with one leg in a wheelchair arrived at the business at 12:30 p.m. and left at 2:25 p.m.

Gill said investigators collected DNA evidence from blood found on Zhao’s body and entered it into a national database. The sample matched Brinkerhoff, who matched the suspect’s description because he was missing a leg.

Investigators obtained text messages that show the victim and Brinkerhoff were communicating before his death.

Brinkerhoff was arrested on January 19 outside another massage parlor in California. He will be extradited to Utah where he will be charged with one count of first-degree felony murder.

Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera Said This brutal crime was “extremely traumatic for all involved”.

Brinkerhoff has a long criminal history leading up to the murder charge, including assault on a police officer, possession of a dangerous weapon, public fighting, drugs, and domestic violence. This includes violations of protective orders.

“This type of incident takes a huge toll on our community,” Rivera added. “And we wanted to make sure that we held this press conference today to let the community know that there are people in custody in this case. Just to tell them the truth. ” A little bit of relief. ”

Mr. Zhao was an immigrant from China.
