Poland to Boost Defence Spending to 5 Per Cent, Build Half Million Man Army

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tass has announced many new initiatives to strengthen defense in his speech in Warsaw. It appears that European powers are set up to comply with the demands that the US president pay for its own protections rather than relying on the US.

Speaking before Shem's parliament, Prime Minister Tass declared on Friday: “Hope is not a substitute for strategy. Hope is a beautiful feeling, but in politics it is often adjacent to naiveness and fantasies… Today, Europe is beginning to realize that it must be fulfilled as the United States expects greater spending, determination and courage from us.”

Despite being one of the top spenders of NATO Defense Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Around it 4%, Poland needs to increase spending to Tusk at least 5% of GDP I saidAccording to gazeta wyborcza.

This goal puts Poland line Many of the allies are still being met as Estonia and Lithuania as the first countries in Europe, with US President Donald Trump asking for NATO allies to increase to at least 5% of GDP compared to the current 2% baseline.

Additionally, Prime Minister Tass asked Poland to build an army of at least half a million people, starting from about 200,000 people today. To achieve this objective, Polish leaders called for the return of military training for all adult men in the country.

Tusk denied that this represents a universal form of military service, saying it functions like a model for Swiss reserves, where everyone must serve the military or participate in another civil service.

Finally, the Prime Minister also said that Warsaw may consider withdrawing from international treaties such as the Ottawa Treaty and the Dublin Treaty.

“We deal with deep revisions to American geopolitics. We cannot be angry at reality. Every country, especially the power of the United States, has the right and obligation to shape its foreign policy and strategy,” Tusk said. I said Polish Parliament.
“Poland has not changed its opinion that it will maintain the closest possible bond between the US and the North Atlantic Agreement. At the same time, we need to know what is going on.”

“This revision is primarily concerned with [US]Changes in attitudes towards two fighting political parties in Ukraine. To Ukraine and Russia. It is not our job to review our biggest ally policies for satisfaction and rhetoric. Our job is to draw conclusions from these movements and this change for our safety. ”

The announcement that Poland will double its defense comes amid wider European movements to increase military spending after US President Donald Trump is re-elected.

Trump has long been able to meet NATO minimum spending requirements while funding luxury welfare programs, remitting to Moscow for natural gas.

German politicians had previously laughed at Trump for warnings about Russia's dependence on energy, but his warning was later proven following the Ukrainian invasion, but the Kremlin then took retaliation against EU sanctions by blocking the flow of natural gas into Germany.

Berlin also appears to be set to invest heavily in its own defense. The next coalition government agreed earlier this week to change its debt expenditure rules to fund a trillion euro ($1.08 trillion) investment in Germany's defense and infrastructure. The European Union is also preparing measures to help member states fund fresh defence spending.
