Country Singer Todd Snider Arrested After Alleged Assault

Country artist Todd Snider was reportedly taken into custody after being hospitalized for injuries linked to an alleged assault outside his hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah.

On Monday, Snider’s management shared on social media that the singer had “sustained severe injuries” in what they called a “violent assault,” though they didn’t provide further specifics about the incident.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by TMZ, the singer seemed to be quite upset upon his discharge from the Salt Lake City Regional Hospital. He allegedly shouted and swore at the hospital staff during his exit.

While police stated he was asked to leave, he initially complied. However, he reportedly returned and confronted someone, making verbal threats, including a declaration that he would “kick [their] ass,” as per the outlet’s report.

Snider was arrested Sunday evening and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing, and making a threat of violence.

A spokesperson for the Salt Lake City Sheriff Department mentioned that he was released on Monday to pretrial services.

Originally, Snider had been set to perform in South Salt Lake on Saturday, but his team later announced that he wouldn’t be returning to the stage for an unspecified period. They expressed their heartbreak over the cancellation of the High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour dates on Snider’s Instagram account.

“Ahead of Todd Snider’s show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel. Todd will be unable to perform for an undetermined amount of time. We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes.”

They added, “We appreciate your understanding as Todd receives needed medical treatment. We hope to have more information on new dates soon,” though Snider’s team did not elaborate on the details surrounding the incident or mention the arrest.

The events leading up to the alleged attack that resulted in Snider’s injuries remain somewhat uncertain.
