Pope Francis passed away Monday morning at the age of 88, according to the Cardinal Kevin Ferrell of Vatican Camerlengo.
“At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome of Francis returned to his father’s house. His life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and his church,” Farrell announced.
“He taught us to live the values of the gospel with faithfulness, courage and universal love, especially in support of the poorest and marginalized people,” the announcement continued.
