Rep Mike Lawler anticipates a significant defeat for the far-left in the midterms due to the 'politics of envy'

Lawler Predicts Midterm Defeat for Far-Left Candidates

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) recently predicted that extreme left candidates will struggle in the upcoming midterm elections. He expressed a belief that American voters would ultimately dismiss what he describes as a growing “politics of envy.”

Speaking on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Lawler referenced President Donald Trump’s remarks from a recent speech at Mount Rushmore, where Trump issued a cautious note regarding the rise of far-left ideologies in the United States.

“For some, a politics of envy and jealousy is on the rise. But I fundamentally believe in the goodness of America and the American people, and they will soundly reject this in the November midterm elections,” Lawler stated.

In his remarks, Lawler suggested that there’s a noticeable shift towards socialist ideologies, which, in his view, contradicts the foundational ideals of the nation.

President Trump, during his speech at Mount Rushmore, emphasized the need to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary while acknowledging renewed attacks on the nation’s identity. He specifically warned of the resurgence of communist threats, claiming that America had triumphed over these ideas in the past but now faces a concerning return.

“Two hundred fifty years later, the sound of American freedom still rings. The American Dream is still alive,” Trump declared, underscoring his commitment to resisting this perceived shift towards communism.

Lawler noted that various Democratic Socialist candidates have gained traction in recent primaries, highlighting a trend he believes contradicts the vision of the Founding Fathers as the nation approaches its milestone anniversary.

House Speaker Mike Johnson echoed concerns over the election of far-left candidates, labeling present times as particularly grave and asserting that communism is making a comeback on American soil.

Lawler, despite his worries about these political divisions, maintains that they shouldn’t define America’s future. He emphasized that the country, despite its differences and current political climate, remains the greatest nation on earth and that all citizens should feel gratitude for living in the United States.
