Documents were first reported Los Angeles Timesrevealing that the ice is requesting support from the FBI and DEA, supporting attacks targeting the large population of illegal immigrants in the “sanctuary” city.
The discovery follows multiple reports suggesting that sources familiar with President Donald Trump will reveal he is “angry” that he is not as high as they expected .
“They are driving him to not deport more people,” an anonymous source said. NBC News.
Despite the assumptions of Trump's grievances, the attacks in Los Angeles seemingly imminent, and migrant raids swept across the country.
The outlet added that anonymous federal sources have revealed that the timing of the attack could change due to the “confusing” pace that the Trump administration appears to be operating. Not only does it slow down the operation, but expected pushbacks from officials within the “sanctuary” city of Los Angeles.
Additionally, Trump recently ordered thousands of ice workers to secure a San Diego border crossing to return to Mexico and Central America to deport “100,000 immigrants.”
Meanwhile, Trump's appointed border emperor Tom Homan said the deportation campaign is off to a great start, but it aims to speed up deportation.
“It was a great start… It's great, it's good, but we're not finished, so we need more deportation,” Homan said at the end of last month. “It's more deportation and that's what we're working on.”
Acting ice director Caleb Vitero previously told agents in January that it would amount to about 500,000 deportations per year, aiming to arrest 1,200 to 1,400 people a day.
