Riley Gaines Raises Funds to Pay Female Golfers Who Boycott Tournaments with Trans Opponents

Riley Gaines, a women’s sports advocate and former NCAA swimming star, is spearheading an effort to raise money to cover the costs of female professional golfers who refuse to play against transgender opponents.

Appeared on FOX Business Network barney & company “We have to encourage people not to participate in this farce,” Gaines said on January 25.

Gaines kicked off the idea in a Jan. 23 post to X, stating, “I will personally pay for any lost expenses, sponsorships, and/or prize money.”

“Before I went public with this statement, I talked to a lot of girls, and all the girls who had to compete with this guy said, ‘Riley, I don’t have a sponsor. I have support and this is my job. If I don’t do that, I won’t have any income,” Gaines said on FBN’s show.

“There’s no need to be scared, folks,” Gaines added. “And I think if we set up some sort of crowdfunding initiative, we could easily raise money.”

Since her first tweet, Outkick founder Clay Travis and several others have joined Gaines’ fundraising plans.

Gaines specifically reacted to the news that the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) has given permission to male-born transgender golfer Haley Davidson to begin the eligibility process to become the first transgender LPGA professional golfer. did.

Gaines also said he is considering creating a fund for all sports and for female professional athletes who refuse to play against transgender opponents.

“I’m willing to pay that price. No matter what sport it is,” Gaines exclaimed. “And when I faced this, I didn’t have to sacrifice all the effort that I’ve put in because I played against Leah Thomas. But I think it’s necessary now. ” ”

Meanwhile, Davidson slapped his critics, claiming he faces “misplaced hatred” for his position on the LPGA.
