Roman Reigns keeps the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu at WWE Clash in Italy

Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu: A Clash for Supremacy

There’s a reason why Roman Reigns is dubbed “Top of the Table.” Ever since his victory earlier this month at Backlash, Jacob Fatu has become a significant challenge for him. Fatu has made his intentions clear—he wants to claim everything that Reigns possesses.

While Reigns defeated Fatu at Backlash, that win didn’t seem to satisfy Fatu. He’s already thrown down the gauntlet for a tribal combat match against Reigns at an upcoming event in Italy, which adds tension, considering it’s for Reigns’ title of “Tribal Chief.”

Reigns has faced many challengers over the years as he solidifies his position, including Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa, both of whom have tried and failed to take him down. In fact, Reigns has been working to ensure that Fatu won’t pose a threat again. One of his strategies was to neutralize Fatu’s signature move, the Tonga Death Grip.

Using some clever tactics, Reigns focused on preventing Fatu from using the Tonga Death Grip, which he’s relied on multiple times. But it would likely take more than that to bring Fatu down. Reigns knew he had to dig deeper. In a striking moment, he speared Fatu into a barricade, unfortunately also sending a security team member crashing in the process.

Reigns, ever assertive, proclaimed that he didn’t need anyone’s help as he tore off the turnbuckles in the ring. However, Fatu appeared determined. He attempted another Tonga Death Grip but faltered. Reigns tried to counter with a Superman Punch, yet Fatu absorbed the impact. It was a back-and-forth battle until Fatu landed a Pop-Up Samoan Drop followed by a moonsault, though it wasn’t enough for a pin.

During a second pin attempt, Reigns struck back with a low blow. Both were clearly exhausted, giving their all in the center of the ring. Reigns gained the upper hand, slamming Fatu’s head against the exposed turnbuckle, stunning him further. As Fatu struggled to stand, Reigns hit him with yet another spear, sealing his fate.

Afterward, Fatu is left trying to realign with Reigns and The Usos, but he will have to contend with others in his corner, including Solo Sikoa and the Tonga brothers, who witnessed his defeat.
