The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, has launched a new exhibit in partnership with the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA). Visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the early foundations of ancient Judaism and Christianity.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are a collection of ancient Jewish manuscripts, and the first fragment on display is a sheet from the Great Psalm Scroll from Cave 11, written in Hebrew.

According to the library's website, the museum is 125,000 square feet and consists of both permanent and temporary galleries.

David Truglio, president and CEO of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, said he is honored to host the scroll on the 75th anniversary of its discovery.
“The Dead Sea Scrolls are fundamental to the development of the great monotheistic faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. President Reagan was deeply shaped by his faith, and we are committed to preserving these ancient treasures. “We are proud to open it to the public,” he said.

In addition to the eight scrolls, 200 additional artifacts will be on display.

Guests can learn about the role of the sacred space through the Magdalene Stone and share the history of the synagogue.
From the Second Temple period onwards, this stone contains the earliest known temple carvings, including an image of the temple menorah.
According to a press release, the Sea of Galilee Ship is a 1st century AD fishing boat discovered on the northwest coast of the Sea of Galilee.

The restored “Jesus Boat” is constructed from timber from the original boat and measures 27 feet long and 7 1/2 feet wide.

a small stone container used for secondary burials known as a columbarium, will also be exhibited.

“These ossuaries teach us about early Jewish beliefs about the afterlife and the important social structures afforded to the life and death of families,” the release states.
This exhibit is currently on display until fall 2025.
Ticket prices start at approximately $29.95 for general admission to the museum, which includes exhibits.
