Rosie O’Donnell Admits Fault in Misstatement
Actress Rosie O’Donnell acknowledged she was “smashed” after mistakenly labeling the shooter involved in an incident at a Catholic school as “a Republican Magazine person.”
In a TikTok video, O’Donnell expressed regret for not conducting “due diligence” before making a heartfelt declaration. She speculated that the shooter, who transitioned from “Robert” Westman to “Robin” Westman at the age of 17, might be associated with “gun people who love the NRA.”
“I know many were upset about the video I posted before leaving for a few days,” she mentioned. “I was offline during that period and I still haven’t seen it, but you’re right; I didn’t do my homework before making that emotional statement.”
O’Donnell added, “I assumed, like with many shooters, they shared common motives and feelings. Honestly, I got it all wrong, and when that happens, things can get messy. So, this is my apology, and I hope it’s sufficient.”
@ROSIE I apologize to Maga for saying that the school shooter is one of you – it’s wrong – I made a mistake – I didn’t study – I’m sorry – I was always wrong – it’s always wrong – #uniteamerica #RonlyHope
Simon Kent from Breitbart London reported that O’Donnell, who had a history of self-reporting to Ireland after Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential election victory, mentioned that the shooter claimed to be “white, Republican, and Maga people.”
She further stated, “The NRA is a terrorist organization that has been around for years. The system is broken. We’re more focused on guns than on kids.”
“Is it enough, America? Donald Trump isn’t sufficient? The Heritage Foundation? Everything there? He’s their puppet. But what do you think? It’s all coming to an end,” she added, “It’s not looking good.”
Following the shooting that claimed 18 lives, including children aged 8 and 10, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed that the shooter had fired through the church window during the service.
