China Aids Iran in Conflict with US and Israel
On Saturday, Iran’s foreign minister acknowledged that China is backing Iran in its ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel. This admission came just days after he confirmed that Iran receives support from Russia as well.
“Russia and China are our strategic partners, and we’ve had close cooperation—including military collaboration,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Accusations have emerged that Russia and China are providing the Islamic Republic with intelligence concerning American military positions during a phase known as Operation Epic Fury.
This revelation about China’s involvement follows Araghchi’s earlier statement regarding Russia’s role, which he characterized as “not a secret.”
He mentioned this military cooperation while participating in NBC’s “Meet the Press.” However, specifics about the type of military aid Iran is receiving from China and Russia were not provided. Araghchi merely described the partnership as “good cooperation.”
The discussion surrounding Russian involvement contradicts previous assurances made to U.S. diplomats. Ambassador Steve Witkoff relayed that Russian leaders had promised President Trump not to share any intel during a recent phone call.
“I can tell you that they assured Trump on the phone yesterday that they weren’t sharing… so we can either trust them or not,” Witkoff said.
In an interesting turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his “unwavering support” for Iran and congratulated the new supreme leader following the death of his predecessor due to a US and Israeli airstrike.
He expressed confidence in Iran’s new leader Mojtaba Khamenei, indicating that he would fulfill his father’s legacy in uniting the country.
When questioned about President Trump’s night airstrikes on Iranian military targets, Araghchi warned that Iran would retaliate against neighboring countries if its energy infrastructure came under attack. He specifically accused the United Arab Emirates of enabling U.S. operations against Iran from its territory.
Responding to these allegations, a UAE advisor stated that while the country has the right to defend itself against attacks, it continues to seek a rational and peaceful solution for both Iran and the broader region.
