Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation to visit India for their annual high-level meeting, following a phone call between the two leaders, according to the Kremlin.
Their discussion highlighted the essential need for a resolute fight against terrorism in all its forms.
“Indian leaders reiterated their invitation to the Russian president for the annual bilateral summit. The invitation was acknowledged and accepted,” the Kremlin stated.
They underscored the strategic significance of Russia-India relations, which are characterized by a privileged partnership that remains unaffected by external influences, and continues to evolve dynamically across various sectors.
Putin expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic killing of Indian civilians in the terrorist attack in Pahargam on April 22, assuring Prime Minister Modi that Russia is committed to collaborating with India to combat all manifestations of terrorism, as reported by state radio Vesti FM.
Prime Minister Modi has also extended his congratulations to Putin and the Russian people on the 80th anniversary of their victory in the Great Patriotic War.
