Concerns Over Anti-Semitism Addressed by Sara Netanyahu
Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has expressed growing concern over the rising threat of anti-Semitism and its potential to harm Christian-Jewish relations. Her statements emerged during her recent four-day visit to the U.S. for the “Be Best” First Ladies Summit, an event organized by First Lady Melania Trump.
In comments shared with Fox News Digital, she noted that extremist factions on both the far left and far right are perpetuating anti-Semitic attitudes, disregarding historical consequences that seek to weaken support for Israel and create divisions within the Christian community. “Israel has never had a prime minister like my husband,” she remarked, highlighting his efforts to build authentic partnerships with Christian leaders during his visits to the U.S., emphasizing that he genuinely listens to them.
She added, “They deserve recognition for their courage in standing firm against Israel’s enemies. They are ours.” In July, Israel had also hosted Paula Whitecain, a senior aide to the U.S. President, for a special event attended by Netanyahu, which connected with millions of Christian viewers globally.
Following a Hamas attack that resulted in the deaths of 1,200 people in Israel on October 7, 2023, incidents of anti-Semitism surged worldwide, including in the U.S. Raised in Israel, Sara Netanyahu was influenced by her father, a Biblical scholar, who instilled in her a strong sense of the Jewish connection to the Land of Israel.
Speaking about the Holocaust, she emphasized that it’s a historical moment that must never be forgotten, especially amid ongoing threats from Iran. Prime Minister Netanyahu underscored similar sentiments, highlighting the severity of the current geopolitical landscape as the country faces ongoing military operations against Iranian influences.
In light of the conflict, there were reports of increasing anti-Semitic incidents, including attacks related to pro-Israel rallies. Last month, a federal investigation revealed that some educators were fostering anti-Semitic sentiments during protests against Israel.
Amid these struggles, Sara Netanyahu depicted the situation as an “existential war” against forces aimed at destroying peace and stability. She also commended Donald Trump for being a steadfast ally to Israel, recognizing his role in shaping Middle Eastern dynamics in favor of free democratic values.
During this visit, Prime Minister Netanyahu met with several influential figures, participated in discussions on technology and education, and explored initiatives aimed at distance learning, reflecting ongoing dialogues between Israeli leaders and international partners, especially in the tech sector.
Ultimately, Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s commitment to innovation and collaboration, suggesting that the nation’s advancements in technology and other sectors show its prominence among Western nations. “When countries recognize our contributions, they will choose partnership over extremism and hatred,” she concluded.
