The Devil’s Temple Opens Telehealth Abortion Clinic in Maine
The Devil’s Temple has launched a telehealth abortion clinic in Maine, coinciding with President Donald Trump’s birthday on June 14th. They’ve playfully named the clinic “President Yuge’s most beautiful, extraordinary demon abortion clinic.”
Erin Hellian, the executive director of the Devil’s Temple, expressed hope that the clinic’s unique title would serve as a fitting birthday gift for Trump.
Hellian also shared her sorrow over the closure of multiple abortion clinics following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, which delegated abortion decisions back to individual states. She stated, “We are heartbroken by the many other clinics that have been forced to close over the last few years, but at TST Health, we hope to continue bringing abortion care everywhere and grow further in the future.”
This is the third telehealth clinic operated by the Devil’s Temple. They had previously opened “Samuel Arito’s Mama’s Devil Abortion Clinic” in New Mexico, where they took jabs at conservative Supreme Court judges, and Virginia’s “Devil Abortion Clinic of Your Life.”
Since the end of the Roe v. Wade decision, the Devil’s Temple has advocated for “Devil’s Abortion Ceremonies” as a constitutionally protected religious practice. They aim to frame abortion within the context of First Amendment protections.
The ritual reportedly helps women alleviate guilt associated with terminating a pregnancy. Participants are instructed to recite, “by my body, my blood. By my will,” immediately following an abortion, whether it’s chemical or surgical. Despite being recognized by the IRS as a religious entity, the Devil’s Temple claims its use of devil imagery is meant to promote secularism and freedom.
