Schumer Warns U.S. Troops Will Be Fighting Russians if Border Bill Not Passed

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) warned that U.S. troops will be sent to Eastern Europe “within a few years” if the Senate border bill, which provides $60 billion in aid to Ukraine, is not passed. .

Schumer said on MSNBC on Monday.

We are at a tipping point in America. Construction was so important that history will look back on it and say, did America itself fail?

Why does it matter? Well, if we don’t help Ukraine, Putin will roam all over Ukraine and we will lose the war. And within a few years we may be fighting in Eastern Europe as a NATO ally. Americans won’t like it.

Two months ago, President Joe Biden made a similar argument — that the U.S. military would go to war with Russia unless more aid was passed.

“If he continues to act like this and then attacks our NATO allies – yes, as a NATO member we have promised to protect every inch of NATO territory – then we are not asking for anything, and we are not asking for it. “They’re going to get what they didn’t ask for,” Biden warned.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also made that assertion to House members during a closed-door conference in December. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said it was “very likely” that U.S. troops would be sent into combat if the aid bill is not passed.

Schumer said that unless the bill giving Israel $14 billion is passed, the war between Israel and Hamas “will continue forever.” He claimed that if the United States did not provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, “hundreds of thousands” could starve to death.

He also acknowledged that the border is a “mess” even though the bill only includes $20 billion for the border. This represents about a third of the amount sent to Ukraine.

“So this is extremely important for America. It’s a turning point. History is going to look over our shoulders and say, ‘Did we get through this?'” Schumer continued.

Schumer praised Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and blamed former President Donald Trump for increasing Republican opposition to the bill in both chambers.

He also threatened that everything would get “worse” if the bill was not passed.

“To his credit, Mitch McConnell did that, but too many Republicans, including the Speaker, did that.” [Mike] Johnson is just deathly afraid of Donald Trump. Donald Trump said he wants chaos. Donald Trump said wait until I’m president, which will be at least a year. Ukraine may disappear. Borders will get even worse. “The wars in the Middle East will get worse and we may get dragged into them,” he argued.
