Scott Swift, Taylor Swift’s father, is on the mend after undergoing heart surgery recently.

At 73 years old, he had quintuple bypass surgery a little over a month ago, as confirmed by a representative for Taylor. It seems that the surgery wasn’t prompted by a heart attack.

Instead, during a routine check-up, Scott’s doctor noticed something concerning, leading to the conclusion that surgery was necessary.

It was confirmed that Scott’s wife, Andrea, 67, along with Taylor, 35, and their son Austin, 33, were all by his side in the hospital during the procedure.

Scott has shared that he’s feeling good as he recovers.

Quintuple bypass surgery is quite a complex operation, typically aimed at addressing significant blockages in five major arteries that supply blood to the heart. Recovery from such a procedure often spans several weeks, with many individuals returning to their normal activities within about six to twelve weeks.

Throughout her life, Taylor has maintained a close relationship with both of her parents.

Scott, a former financial advisor at Merrill Lynch, relocated the family to just outside Nashville when Taylor was around 14, enabling her to chase her aspirations of becoming a singer.

Since then, both he and Andrea have actively supported Taylor, joining her at concerts and cheering her on with her relationship with Travis Kelce.

Andrea has faced her own battles, previously fighting cancer twice, a detail Taylor disclosed in a Tumblr post back in 2015.

In that post, Taylor mentioned wanting to keep specifics about her mother’s health private, but she felt it was important for fans to understand if Andrea wasn’t as present during that tour because she was facing a significant health challenge.

Later, in a heartfelt essay, Taylor revealed that her mother’s cancer had returned, this time accompanied by a diagnosis of a brain tumor that Andrea is undergoing treatment for.

Reflecting on her experiences, Taylor noted that her mother’s health struggles helped her realize what truly matters in life.

Andrea’s cancer journey even inspired Taylor’s song “Soon You’ll Get Better,” featuring the Chicks, from her album “Lover.” Additionally, Taylor mentioned in her essay that Scott had also faced cancer previously, although she didn’t go into specifics about his condition.
