Yes, the trial was rigged.
From Judge Marchan reversing the order of closing arguments before the jury so the prosecution could not make a final defense argument, to the unprecedented and outrageous instruction that all 12 jurors do not have to agree that the defendant was guilty, the plan was set from the moment the Biden administration’s number three man at the Justice Department magically appeared as a first-tier prosecutor working under Alvin Bragg in New York.
Add to that the fact that the judge illegally donated to the Biden campaign and an anti-Trump PAC, and that his daughter raised $93 million for Democrats in her father’s case, and this was political activism thinly disguised as judicial proceedings, and it’s a dark day indeed. On the other hand, there are some conclusions that are already clear and bode very well for the president, his supporters, and all patriots.
Within minutes of the verdict being handed down, Trump’s website crashed and remained crashed for several hours. Why? Was it hacked? No. It crashed because too many Americans had had enough and wanted to donate to the president’s reelection campaign.
The total he has raised in the past few hours will likely surpass the previous record of $54 million raised in a single day. It is also astonishing, as you can see from my X feed, to see the countless Democrats who have donated to Republican candidates and publicly declared their intention to vote for President Trump on November 5th.
For now, the president is a free man, having left the courtroom in an armored Secret Service SUV and motorcade, having slept in his own bed last night, and will remain a free man until his sentence is handed down, which of course comes just four days before the Republican National Convention. Again, politics.
But whatever sentence Juan Merchan gets, it matters in terms of sentencing. It doesn’t matter in a constitutional sense. The Democratic Party may be hate-driven and well-organized, but it doesn’t seem well prepared.
Besides winning the electoral vote, there are only three requirements for an American to become president: be over 35 years old, be a natural-born US citizen, and have lived in the US for 14 years. There is no exclusion for having a criminal record, meaning a felon can become president. (Unfortunately, many conservative voters don’t know this, please educate them.)

I mean, the president has been politically wealthy and powerful since he walked down the escalator at Trump Tower all those years ago. If the election were held today, and it was a free and fair election, the president would win. But five months is a long time in politics, and you have to take nothing for granted.
These are all apparent consequences of what happened yesterday, but they miss the true historical consequences of the events we witnessed less than 24 hours ago. Yesterday was not about one person, one party, or one election. It is about the structure of our system itself, the unity of our people and their political elite, our judiciary, and our state institutions.
Yes, the president will appeal the ruling, but appeals are for righting wrongs. What happened yesterday was not a mistake. Every detail was deliberate. The system was purposefully rigged. And America has changed as a result.
Our society is premised on differences being resolved in a civilized way. What happens if the public loses faith in the justice system? Even if an innocent person wins the 2024 presidential election, millions of people will never trust the justice system that governs them. How on earth can the nation resolve this?
Meanwhile, the real verdict for President Trump will come on November 5th.
