Missile Attacks by Iran Result in Casualties in Israel
On Monday morning, Iran initiated a series of missile strikes on Israel, resulting in at least eight deaths and injuring dozens more, as reported by Israeli emergency services.
Among the fatalities were four individuals in their 70s—two men and two women—who were killed when missiles struck various locations in central Israel, according to the Magen David Adom Emergency Service.
Additionally, the MDA noted that over 100 people were evacuated to hospitals, with a 30-year-old woman reported to be in serious condition. Rescuers continued to search for individuals trapped beneath the rubble of damaged homes.
Rescue operations managed to pull a six-day-old baby from the debris.
Trump’s Perspective on the Conflict
Former President Trump mentioned that Israel and Iran need to address the ongoing conflict, though he believes there might be potential for trade between the two nations.
The recent attacks resulted in at least 24 Israeli casualties, with more than 500 individuals injured since the violence escalated last Friday following Israeli attacks on Iran.
In retaliation, Israeli forces targeted ten command centers associated with the QUDS Force, a specialized unit within Iran’s Revolutionary Guard responsible for military and intelligence operations.
Inevitably, a powerful explosion from Israeli defense systems disrupted the incoming missiles, shaking Tel Aviv shortly before dawn.
According to Israeli Ambassador Mike Huckabee, US officials reported no injuries from a missile explosion that caused minor damage near the US embassy in Tel Aviv.
Iran, on the other hand, claimed to have launched around 100 missiles, vowing further retaliation against Israeli military and nuclear targets.
Calls for Change from Iranian Exiles
The exiled crown prince of Iran suggested that the current situation presents a significant moment for Iranians to challenge the weakened regime.
The Iranian health ministry reported at least 224 deaths and approximately 1,300 injuries within Iran, although advocacy groups contend the true death toll may be much higher, with over 400 individuals, including nearly 200 civilians, allegedly having been killed.
In the city of Petatikva, local authorities reported that Iranian missiles severely damaged residential buildings, shattered windows, and collapsed walls in multiple apartments.
During early missile strikes on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut stated that Iran would halt its assault if Israel ceased its attacks.
Escalating Violence Following Israeli Airstrikes
The day following intensified Israeli airstrikes—which included not only military sites but also oil refineries and government buildings—Iran’s Revolutionary Guards vowed to respond with greater strength and precision.
Israel maintains that targeting prominent Iranian military leaders, uranium enrichment sites, and nuclear scientists is vital to prevent Iran from developing nuclear capabilities.
Iran counters that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, a claim supported by US Intelligence and the International Atomic Energy Agency, asserting that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons.
