Shane McMahon and Tony Khan have been spotted in a photo that is sending shockwaves through the wrestling world.
Vince McMahon’s son and the president of AEW were in the photo. Retrieved by WrestleTalkThe meeting reportedly took place behind closed doors at an office in Arlington, Texas, where AEW and Ring of Honor have been holding shows at the city’s esports stadium in recent weeks.
The two were discussing future possibilities. According to Fightful:Shane McMahon is reportedly currently uncontracted with WWE.
Rumors of Shane McMahon being interested in working with AEW began back in June when Conrad Thompson, the popular wrestling podcast host and son-in-law of Ric Flair, said on his “Grilling JR” show that McMahon had “reached out to some of the wrestlers in AEW to discuss the idea of at least tentatively working with the company.”
When Khan was first asked about the Shane McMahon rumors in June, he said he had never met with McMahon, but left the door open to speaking with him eventually.

Shane McMahon hasn’t appeared on WWE television since tearing his quadriceps while facing The Miz at WrestleMania 39 two years ago.
The McMahon family no longer has a controlling interest in WWE after selling the company to Endeavor in April 2023 for $9.3 billion, with Shane’s brother-in-law Triple H serving as chief creative and content officer.
Vince McMahon stepped down as chairman of WWE’s parent company TKO in January 2023 after former employee Janelle Grant filed a federal sexual assault and sex trafficking lawsuit against him.
Stephanie McMahon will step down as CEO in January 2023, and the previously “retired” Vince McMahon has returned to the board of directors to facilitate the sale.

There will undoubtedly be plenty of big shows to debut Shane McMahon at this summer if AEW and AEW decide to team up, but none will be bigger than “All In” on August 25th at Wembley Stadium in London.
