Don Lemon Criticizes Megyn Kelly’s Appearance
Former CNN host Don Lemon has once again made headlines by criticizing women’s appearances, this time focusing on SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly. During an appearance on the “Clip Farmers Podcast with Don Lemon,” he suggested that Kelly looks “trans.”
Lemon described Kelly as “clockable,” a term indicating that someone might be recognized as a drag queen or transgender. He has faced backlash in the past, notably when he remarked that former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley was not in her prime during her campaign for the 2024 Republican primary.
“I think she looks trans,” Lemon stated. “As I say, she looks clockable. Clockable, do you know what clockable is? Google it. It’s like when a drag person or a trans person is clockable.”
Lemon’s previous remarks about Haley sparked accusations of misogyny. He eventually apologized, claiming that his comments about her age were “irrelevant.” In a tweet, he stated, “The reference I made to a woman’s ‘prime’ this morning was inartful and irrelevant. A woman’s age doesn’t define her either personally or professionally.”
In a related context, in 2008, Lemon reportedly sent threatening anonymous text messages to his female co-anchor Kyra Phillips while she was covering a story in Iraq. This led to a Human Resources investigation that resulted in him being removed from the show.
Furthermore, Lemon has faced allegations of making inappropriate remarks to female colleagues, including calling one fat and disrespecting others during meetings. Not long after the text incident, he reportedly mocked Nancy Grace and questioned Soledad O’Brien’s racial identity after she was named the host of CNN’s “Black in America” docuseries.
In another incident on CNN in September 2022, Lemon questioned political commentator S.E. Cupp about experiencing “mommy brain” after she struggled to maintain her focus during a segment.
