US Military Strikes Iranian Nuclear Sites
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement on social media this past Sunday, reflecting on the “tragic” bombing of nuclear facilities in Iran. They noted, “Our thoughts are with the victims and families affected by the recent bombings in Iran.” It went on to indicate that while this occurred overseas, they are closely monitoring the developments in collaboration with local, state, and federal authorities.
The Sheriff’s Office later revised their initial post, which mentioned the US military strike, removing details before ultimately taking it down. It’s still unclear whether there were any casualties resulting from the operation.
A spokesperson from the Sheriff’s Office indicated to Fox News Digital that he was not aware of the initial statement of condolence. Echoing some sentiments, a post from a suspended account that tackles anti-Semitism said, “I sincerely hope your account has been hacked.” They highlighted that there were no casualties during the targeting of the nuclear site.
This military action, dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer, saw US forces strike three nuclear sites in Iran located in Ford, Natanz, and Isfahan over the weekend.
Chief of Staff Dan Kane addressed the press on Sunday, stating, “A large B-2 strike package was deployed from America’s mainland late Friday into Saturday morning.” He emphasized that the operation preserved the element of surprise throughout.
While Iranian officials acknowledged the significance of the strikes, the Trump administration viewed these actions as an effective measure to hinder Tehran’s nuclear weapon development capabilities.
