Sisters Charged After Restaurant Assault Over Wrong Order
In a bizarre incident in Detroit, two sisters are facing serious charges following an altercation with a restaurant employee over an incorrect food order. Brianna and Chieliana Long, one of whom is nine months pregnant, reportedly stabbed the employee and hurled hot oil during the altercation, as reported.
The sisters have been charged with multiple offenses, including assault with intent to murder, stemming from the shocking assault that took place on May 30 at a local chicken eatery.
According to prosecutors, the conflict began after the sisters, both upset about receiving the wrong order from a 23-year-old restaurant worker, jumped behind the counter. In the midst of the confrontation, things escalated quickly. They threw objects at the employee, struck him with pots and pans, and even attempted to pour hot oil on him.
When the employee reacted by throwing something back, Brianna, 29, and Chieliana, 26, allegedly picked up a knife that had been thrown at them and stabbed the worker in the stomach, officials said. One of them shouted threats during the altercation, indicating the volatility of the situation.
Following the attack, the sisters tried to leave the scene in their vehicle. Meanwhile, the injured worker was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery. Both Brianna and Chieliana were later apprehended by law enforcement.
Interestingly, Brianna gave birth just four days before her court appearance related to the incident. During the arraignment, her lawyer claimed the restaurant employee was not disturbed by the mix-up and had instigated the situation by throwing objects at the sisters.
Brianna, asserting her innocence and mentioning her newborn at home, pleaded not guilty. However, the judge decided to impose a cash bail of $25,000 for Brianna and $100,000 for Chieliana.
