Sobbing Pop Star Bebe Rexha Says She Suffered ‘Hate Crime’ — Booted from Flight for Speaking Albanian

Pop star Bebe Rexha took to social media to share claims that she was involved in an altercation with Lufthansa airport staff that amounted to a “hate crime” and was left crying hysterically.

The 34-year-old American singer repeatedly sent her tearful videos. Instagram She claims she was not allowed on a flight in Munich, Germany on Saturday afternoon because she mistook airline staff for an Albanian and spoke to them in Albanian.

Through a veil of tears, the Grammy-nominated star told her 11.9 million followers that airline employees had “threatened” her and that she felt she was the victim of a “hate crime.”

“I was threatened by a security guard because he thought I was Albanian,” the pop star captioned a sobbing video on her Instagram Stories, “I asked in Albanian where I could buy a ticket and now I can’t get on the plane.”

Rexha insists she believes she experienced a hate crime because she is Albanian, adding that the alleged discrimination didn’t end there.

TMZ Reports Bebe claims that the guards “mentally abused” her and continued to use their power over her, but no one stepped in to say anything. She says she tried to get his name so she could report him, but he wouldn’t give it to her.

According to Rexha, the security guard did not reveal the vocalist’s name, “but we learned he works for ATSG, a document management services company hired by Lufthansa,” she wrote in a follow-up.

A Lufthansa rep told TMZ, “They’re in direct contact with Bebe to learn more, adding that the airline connects people from all over the world and that diversity and equal opportunity are core values ​​of the company.”
