Border Patrol agents have successfully intercepted two distinct smuggling operations in Southern California, uncovering a significant number of undocumented immigrants being transported in vehicles. This includes close to 30 individuals found concealed inside dump trailers.
Both events took place in Westmoreland, part of the El Centro area. Initially, agents pulled over a Chevrolet Tahoe that had seven undocumented immigrants onboard.
In a subsequent operation, authorities discovered 27 undocumented immigrants concealed in a mini-bottom dump trailer, which they characterized as a risky smuggling attempt.
In total, 34 undocumented immigrants were apprehended during these operations, effectively stopping both smuggling efforts.
Officials noted that these recent raids represent “another bad day for smugglers” in the El Centro region, emphasizing ongoing efforts to tackle human smuggling along the southern border.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
In conjunction with these events, Border Patrol took to Instagram to issue a stern warning: “If you are here illegally, we will find you, arrest you, and deport you from the United States. The question is not if, but when.”
