Spencer Pratt shares a 5-step strategy to support 'heavenly' animals in LA, saying 'Dog is just God backwards'

Spencer Pratt has announced his intention to prioritize the welfare of neglected animals on the streets of Los Angeles if he gets elected mayor.

In a nearly 10-minute video released on Saturday, Pratt laid out a five-step strategy aimed at addressing animal abuse.

“There’s a reason why ‘dogs’ sound like ‘gods.’ They offer an unconditional love,” he mentioned. “Nisya and Karen Bass are neglecting the animals being killed in Skid Row and city shelters. They just don’t care. I will put a stop to this nightmare. Vote to rescue these animals.”

The registered Republican has plans to instruct the Los Angeles Police Department to establish a PAWS (Animal Welfare and Safety) Task Force focused on enforcing animal cruelty laws, especially in areas like Skid Row.

Reports indicate that animal abuse is widespread in this part of the city, with dogs being used for drug tests for fentanyl and abused in other horrific ways.

Pratt has stated that he would impose severe penalties on anyone caught mistreating animals, declaring, “Those found guilty of animal abuse will face prison time. I won’t tolerate it in this city.”

He also expressed support for spay/neuter programs and acknowledged the efforts of animal advocate Joey Tuccio, praising those who have worked tirelessly for years despite facing harassment. Pratt criticized the current Mayor, Karen Bass, for allegedly ignoring the crisis.

He expressed determination to revamp the city’s animal shelters, emphasizing that the treatment of dogs has been appalling: “The conditions are worse than those for death row inmates,” he claimed. “We need to ensure that the shelter system prioritizes animal care and allocates funds for food and medical attention.”

In the final aspect of his plan, Pratt wants to find homes for these animals, aiming to replicate successful programs from other cities that help rehabilitate abused dogs with prison inmates.

“These programs let dogs connect with caring humans who train and nurture them, while inmates find a new purpose in caring for these animals,” he explained.

As he concluded, Pratt highlighted the significance of dogs in the lives of Angelenos, stating, “Dogs aren’t just property. They are a blessing from God, and we need to treasure them. Together, we can elevate these wonderful creatures from suffering while also uplifting ourselves. Los Angeles should be the City of Dogs.”

Animal welfare is one of many issues on Pratt’s campaign agenda. He is also focused on supporting victims of the Palisades fire and seeking to clean up Los Angeles’s streets.

A recent poll indicated that Pratt is currently leading with 30.1% support, slightly ahead of Bass at 29.5% and Socialist Party candidate Nitya Raman at 23.4%.

The mayoral primary is set for next Tuesday.
