Republican Senator Bill Weber from New York expressed his worries to Fox News Digital about the potential election of socialist candidate Zoran Mamdani as mayor. He believes that, if elected in November, Mamdani’s leadership could plunge various areas of New York City into disorder.

Weber, who serves New York’s 38th Senate District along the Hudson River, pointed out that anyone who has been in the city recently can attest to the rising number of hazardous situations. His comments come in light of the deadliest mass shooting in midtown Manhattan in decades, sparking intense discussions among all four mayoral candidates about public safety.

Questions surrounding Mamdani’s commitment to anti-Israel sanctions have surfaced, leading to increased scrutiny of his candidacy. Weber noted that Mamdani’s previous comments about police funding have also drawn criticism, and he emphasized the need for the New York City Police Department to receive more resources.

“It’s vital that we continue supporting our police stations. There are political figures, including Mamdani, whose past rhetoric raises real concerns about future safety,” Weber stated. Weber’s district has a significant Jewish population, and he mentioned that many Jewish voters are deeply concerned about Mamdani’s positions. “Residents are worried,” he shared, especially in light of Mamdani’s long-standing anti-Israel stance.
