Stranger Allegedly Stabs Elderly Man With Screwdriver For Drumming On His Lap

A stranger allegedly stabbed an elderly man in the head on a New York City subway bus Monday afternoon simply because he played drums on his lap, police said.

A 60-year-old man who was playing percussion on his lap reportedly enraged the stranger, prompting him to stab the elderly man with a screwdriver. Said New York Post.

One witness, who was standing in front of a nearby corner store, heard screams from passengers on the bus shortly after the incident. “When I got inside the bus, I saw him bleeding,” she said. “I came into the store, got a piece of paper and took it out. The stabbed man was bleeding profusely, but was reportedly alert and able to speak throughout the ordeal.

“He was bleeding profusely. He was bleeding like crazy and was talking,” said an eyewitness.

The 60-year-old man was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital in “stable condition,” the paper continued.
