Texas state police have made public the mugshot of one of three juveniles taken into custody over the weekend concerning a series of 12 shootings that injured four individuals across Austin, along with a timeline detailing the alleged incidents spread over a 28-hour window.

The Austin Police Department disclosed that Cristian Fajardo Mondragon, 17, was arrested on allegations of involvement in mass shootings across the city, which occurred on Sunday and resulted in injuries to four people, attacks on two fire stations, and a shelter-in-place advisory being issued.

Mondragon was apprehended along with two other suspects, aged 15 and 16, whose identities have not been released due to a state law protecting juvenile suspects’ information.

An hour later, officers in Manor spotted a Kia sedan believed involved in the shootings, leading to a chase. The three suspects fled the vehicle on foot.

One suspect was quickly taken into custody, and the other two were apprehended following a brief search.

According to officials, four people suffered injuries, and five vehicles were stolen throughout the event.

“Investigators currently see this as a combination of random and targeted shootings,” stated the APD. “While some victims were known to the suspects, others appeared to be completely unrelated.”

The police chief mentioned that the investigation is “complex,” given the number of crime scenes, vehicles stolen, and the random nature of the shootings throughout the city.

Formal charges are still under consideration for the three suspects but will likely include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unauthorized vehicle use, evading arrest, and related offenses, according to the APD.
