Sydney Sweeney welcomes back an Israeli couple reunited after being released from Hamas captivity

Actress Sydney Sweeney Meets Reunited Hostages Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or

Actress Sydney Sweeney recently had a heartfelt meeting with Israeli hostages Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or, who were freed after being taken by Hamas on October 7, 2023.

The advocacy group StandWithUs shared a touching photo of Sweeney embracing both Argamani and Or, which sparked a wave of support for the 28-year-old actress.

“She’s not afraid of being cancelled in Hollywood. Bravo,” one person remarked on Instagram.

“It turns out it’s not just the jeans that fit well; it’s the values too,” commented Itai Biran, a diplomat at the Israeli Consulate General to the Midwest.

This encounter occurred during Sweeney’s notable relationship with music executive Scooter Braun, who has actively participated in StandWithUs events and previously met with Argamani and Or.

Following their recent meeting in the U.S., Braun described it on Instagram as a “beautiful night getting to see these two together.” His familial ties to Holocaust survivors add a personal dimension to his advocacy.

Argamani and Or were captured during a Hamas assault on October 7 that claimed over 1,200 lives in Israel, including 46 Americans. Video footage from the attack showed Argamani, 26, reaching for her boyfriend while being taken away on a motorcycle. Or, aged 32, was also captured amidst several assailants. Argamani endured 245 days in captivity before being rescued by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), while Or was held for 736 days until he was released as part of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement.

The couple finally reunited in October 2025 after two long years apart.
