Tesla notifies thousands in Texas and California of impending layoffs

Tesla has notified thousands of employees in two states that they will be laid off in an upcoming round of layoffs.

The notifications in California and Texas, where electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers have a large presence, were in the form of warning notices, according to reports.

In California, about 3,300 workers will be affected by Tesla’s planned layoffs, the San Francisco Standard reported. reported on Tuesday.

These appear to occur in a total of four different urban locations in the Golden State.

The EV maker announced Tuesday that it has “updated its future vehicle lineup to accelerate the launch of new models ahead of our previously announced production status in late 2025.”
