Texas border officers discover $10.2M in drugs inside refrigerated trailer hauling roses, officials say

Border officials in Texas discovered $10.2 million worth of drugs hidden inside a bulk shipment inside a refrigerated tractor-trailer that came across the southern border, authorities announced last week.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said in a Dec. 21 news release that a 2001 Freightliner truck carrying manifest for a commercial shipment of cut flowers was stopped at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo on Dec. 21. announced that he had been instructed to undergo a secondary examination. 26.

CBP announced that special agents from the Department of Homeland Security seized the drugs while investigating the seizure.

CBP announced that in the first two months of fiscal year 2024, CBP agents and officers seized 7,200 pounds of cocaine and 29,065 pounds of meth nationwide.
