Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas said his nephew was wounded by a bullet from an attempted assassin at a rally for former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania on Saturday evening.
In an interview with Fox News on Saturday night, Jackson said Said Host Sean Hannity said his nephew was in former President Trump’s “circle of friends and family” to his right, and Jackson noted his nephew was a “target of attack.”
“We heard gunshots and everyone fell to the ground,” Jackson explained.
Jackson said his nephew “had been grazed in the neck, the bullet had gone across his neck, cut his neck and he was bleeding.”
After being shot, Jackson’s nephew was taken to a triage tent at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Two more people were injured in an assassination attempt at the rally.
Allegheny Health Network notifies KDKA Television Two people injured at the rally were taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where the victims, whose names have not been released, are in critical condition.
One spectator was killed in a shooting at a Trump rally.
An eyewitness said: NBC News A man sitting in the bleachers to the far left of the podium was shot in the back of the head, and witnesses said he appeared to die instantly.
“It appears the man was in the way of a gunfight between the shooter and the president. The man who was shot appears to have been in the crossfire,” said a witness who gave only his name as Joseph.
At a press conference Sunday afternoon, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) said: Identified The man killed at the rally was named Corey Comperatore.
Shapiro Said “Mr. Comperatore was a firefighter and a “girl dad” who went to church every Sunday. He died a hero,” the governor said, after jumping in to protect his family as gunfire rang out.
The gunman, identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was neutralized by a Secret Service sniper after he fired as many as eight shots.
At a press conference on Sunday, FBI Special Agent Kevin Rojek said Said It was “amazing” that the gunman was able to fire so many shots before the Secret Service shot him dead.
