sided A deal Monday with Biden's Department of Homeland Security will allow federal border officials to cut razor wire that Texas has installed along the Rio Grande as a way to secure its southern border and protect U.S. sovereignty.
Rather than cower in the wake of the 5-4 ruling, which was dominated by nominally conservative Justices John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett, the Lone Star State doubled down and installed the wire.

Shelby Park is a 47-acre municipal park in Eagle Pass that has seen large numbers of illegal aliens enter the United States in recent months and years. The state took control of the park on January 10th. In addition to fencing the border and improving shoreline barriers, the state expelled federal agents and allowed access to the park only under certain circumstances.

In the weeks since then, the Biden administration has worked through the courts to restore access to the park and remove defenses within the park.

report Officials in Texas were reportedly seen installing new razor wire and anti-climbing fences in response to Monday's Supreme Court ruling. Federal agents have not yet been seen attempting to enter Shelby Park to cut power lines.
Footage shared with X by CBS News' Camilo Montoya Galvez appears to show the Texas National Guard installing more wires in Eagle Pass to curb the influx of foreign nationals.

Randy Weber (R-Texas) supports Texas installing additional razor wire, telling NewsNation, “Frankly, in my opinion, Governor Abbott is trying to get the federal government to stay out of Texas.'' “I think we need to instruct them,” he said. They don't protect their borders, they do a poor job of government, and they don't implement the policies necessary to stop people from entering the country. ”
