The 10 top NFL free agents left and their most probable teams

NFL Free Agency Update

Welcome to the second phase of NFL Free Agency.

With the draft wrapped up, teams are reassessing gaps in their rosters.

As of Monday, teams can now sign free agents to fill these gaps without risking future draft picks. Here are the top 10 unsigned players and where they might land.

1. WR Stefon Diggs

Potential Teams: Rams, Raiders, Ravens

At 32, Diggs is searching for his fourth team in as many years, largely due to off-field issues. A team with an established quarterback seems better suited for him, especially with a court appearance looming over him next week related to assault charges.

Why does he continue to gamble? Well, he has consistently performed well, hitting 1,000 yards for seven straight seasons.

It’s worth noting that the Rams didn’t land any useful players in the draft.

2. WR Jauan Jennings

Potential Teams: Dolphins, Raiders, Commanders, Vikings

At 28, Jennings may have overestimated his value as several receivers are now making over $14 million a year. He provided solid numbers with 55 catches for 643 yards and nine touchdowns last season.

He has visited the Vikings, while the Raiders may want his skills after drafting a pass catcher late. The Commanders, in particular, are in need of a solid No. 2 receiver.

3. LT Taylor Decker

Potential Teams: Bears, Chiefs, Cardinals

Decker, 32, asked for a release during a contract dispute after a decade in Detroit. He has managed to play at least 14 games in the last four seasons.

Does he want to be a swing tackle? Compete for a starting role? Or perhaps he believes his experience should be enough at this point?

A reunion with Bears head coach Ben Johnson could make sense, especially since he has dealt with tackle injuries in the past.

4. Edge Cameron Jordan

Potential Teams: Saints, Bears, Chiefs, Rams

Even with the Saints recently acquiring Tyree Wilson, Jordan, 36, isn’t out of the picture. With 132 career sacks and ten from last season, he still has something to offer.

Given that the Bears struggled with pass rush last year and didn’t use a top draft pick on it, could defensive coordinator Dennis Allen entice him back to New Orleans?

Plus, Jordan has future interests in broadcasting—would he consider starting that journey in Los Angeles?

5. Edge Joey Bosa

Potential Teams: Colts, Seahawks, Jaguars, Titans

Joey, at 30, is entering a new chapter as a mercenary in his career, much like Jadeveon Clowney.

He recorded five sacks and led the league in forced fumbles last season.

Will he look for a team that sees his potential, or does he lean towards familiarity with Titans defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, who previously coached him?

6. WR Deebo Samuel Sr.

Potential Teams: Rams, Chiefs, Colts, Raiders

Samuel, who struggled with injuries while with the 49ers, had a decent season with 72 catches, 727 yards, and five touchdowns in 16 games for the Commanders.

While he wasn’t utilized much as a rusher, he remains one of the league’s versatile players. What might play-callers like Sean McVay and Andy Reid have in mind for him?

7. DT Curry Campbell

Potential Teams: Giants, Ravens, Bears, Patriots, Bills

At this point, does Campbell want to retire, or does he still want to play past 40?

One of the great personalities in the game, he started all 51 games over the last three years, accumulating 18 sacks.

While the Cardinals are undecided on his return, it would make sense for him to come back to a team he lost a Super Bowl with as a rookie in 2009.

The Giants need help at defensive tackle, although they seem to be eyeing DJ Reeder instead.

8. LB Bobby Wagner

Potential Teams: Bengals, Cowboys, Commanders, Bills

Wagner’s return to the Commanders isn’t out of the question, even after they drafted Sonny Styles.

There’s been ongoing talk about him and the Cowboys.

At 35, Wagner could join the Bengals and significantly impact the field alongside new addition Dexter Lawrence, while also providing leadership. He recorded 162 tackles last season.

9. TE David Njoku

Potential Teams: Panthers, Broncos, Chargers, Buccaneers

Njoku’s numbers plummeted last season to 33 catches for 293 yards, just two years after reaching career highs.

With a loaded draft, many starting positions will be needed, and the Panthers seem to have an urgent need for a tight end like him.

10. G Kevin Zeitler

Potential Teams: Titans, Ravens, Dolphins

If Joel Bitonio doesn’t retire, he might go back to the Browns.

Zietler, at 36, is mainly a right guard but has shown interest in playing center. This position remains a big gap for the Ravens after losing All-Pro Tyler Linderbaum. Zeitler had previous stints in Baltimore from 2021-2023.

Bonus: QB Aaron Rodgers

Potential Teams: Steelers

Rodgers, at 42, could have topped this list until Tuesday when the Steelers placed him on an unrestricted free agent tender. Now, he’s weighing the choice between returning as their starter or retiring.
