Former Officials Critique Companies Linked to Trump Administration

In recent podcast discussions, ex-officials from the Biden and Obama administrations expressed concerns over companies and individuals that collaborated with the Trump administration.

During an episode of “Stay Tuned with Preet,” hosted by former New York Southern District Attorney Preet Bharara, Susan Rice commented on the topic. She asserted, “This isn’t about forgiving and forgetting. The damage these individuals are inflicting is far too significant for the American people and our national interests.”

Rice warned that companies aligning themselves with the Trump administration might face consequences. “It’s not going to end well for them. Those who believe they’re acting in their self-interest are likely mistaken. It’s very short-term self-interest,” she noted. Furthermore, she suggested that these companies might be realizing that supporting Trump may not be as favorable as they once thought.

“If these corporations think that once Democrats regain power, everything will revert to how it was—where past transgressions will be overlooked—they might be in for a surprise,” she added.

Rice remarked that a shift in the political landscape during the midterm elections could usher in an “accountability agenda” if Democrats achieve significant victories, ultimately diminishing Trump’s influence.

She also indicated that firms are beginning to recognize the importance of preserving documentation. “They need to be ready to respond to subpoenas. If they acted unlawfully, they will face repercussions, and if they didn’t, then that’s good for them,” Rice stated. Additionally, she pointed out some polls indicating that Americans are unhappy with the president’s performance, particularly regarding immigration and the economy.

In her comments, Rice highlighted the bravery of those protesting against immigration enforcement in Minnesota, asserting, “Minnesota’s citizens have demonstrated their courage. United peaceful protests can make a difference, and this could inspire similar movements across the nation.” Nonetheless, recent surveys suggest most Americans back the president’s reactions to the protests occurring in Minneapolis.
