World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman announced on Wednesday that Garcia had been expelled from the organization.

“I am exercising my authority as WBC President to ban Ryan Garcia from all activities with our organization,” Sulaiman wrote to X. “We reject discrimination of any kind. Ryan has repeatedly declined our assistance with his mental health and substance abuse issues and we are concerned about his well-being.”

Before his expulsion was handed down, he ranted again about X and tried to defend some of his statements.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Garcia’s representatives for comment.

Garcia was suspended for one year by the New York State Athletic Commission last month after testing positive for a banned substance following a bout against Devin Haney in April.

He later wrote to X that he was “officially retired” and claimed he was heading to the UFC, denying suggestions he had banned substances in his system during the Haney fight.

He tested positive for ostarine, which is not a steroid but can stimulate muscle growth and is on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s banned substances list.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Garcia and his team said at the time that he was a “victim of billions, even trillions, of drug contamination per gram and provided no advantage in the ring.”
